Inca Real

This beautiful house was built in the beginning of the 19th century and now is the Inca Real Hotel. This house is an example of Colonial Style; it clearly shows the Spanish influence in the way our natives used to build houses.

Like many houses in Cuenca, this one was decorated with mural paintings, inspired in legends, in poems and in prints originated in Europe. Throughout time, the weather has altered the beauty of this antique and simple house which has fostered some well to-do burgess families.
