Leguane waren es, die uns auf der Reise-Seite der Frankfurter Rundschau ansahen und einen lange gehegten Wunsch wieder erwachen lie?en: Dort wollen wir hin.

Im Internet suchten wir nach Agenturen, die uns behilflich sein sollten, unsere individuell geplante Reise auch durchfuhren zu konnen.

Von den angeschriebenen Agenturen antwortete lediglich Zenith Travel in Quito.Da wir noch nie in Sudamerika waren, lasen wir viel uber das Land und die Galapagos-Inseln. Welche Inseln wollen wir besuchen, mit welchem Schiff wollen wir unterwegs sein, mit einer Segelyacht oder Motoryacht, die etwa 20 Personen fasst oder

mit einem gro?en Schifft fur etwa 100 Fahrgaste?

Fur den Aufenthalt auf dem Festland gab es zu uberlegen, in welchen Stadten wir bleiben und welche Sehenswurdigkeiten wir besuchen wollten. Mieten wir uns ein Auto, fliegen wir oder fahren wir mit offentlichen Verkehrsmitteln?

All diese Fragen und Planungen gaben wir per e-mail an Marcos Endara, den Bossvon Zentih-Travel weiter, der uns uberaus freundlich und geduldig alle Wunsche undAnderungswunsche erfullte.

Abschlie?end, nach gelungener Reise, konnen wir sagen, dass Ecuador ein wunderschones Reiseland ist mit freundlichen Menschen, beeindruckender Natur und dass

Journey to Ecuador and Galapagos

Motivated by an article in FRANKFURTER RUNDSCHAU about Galapagos showing a photo of an iguana we were looking for an Ecuadorian Agency via Internet to getsome necessary help in order to organize our individual trip.

Out of various agencies contacted by us we received a helpful answer only fromZENITH TRAVEL in Quito.

Which islands to visit, what kind of boat to take for a cruise, how to travel in the Mainland, where to stay in various towns ?

All these questions we transmitted per e-mail to Marcos Endara, Executive Manager of Zenith Travel, who sent us in return the correspondant answers treating our wishes and changes always in a very friendly manner and with enough patience.

Finally, at the end of this succesful journey, our statement is the following :

Ecuador is a wonderful country with very friendly people as well as cultural highlights and impressive nature including all those amazing animals on the Galapagos Islands.

אקוודור הייתה יעד בלתי נודע ובעצם לא ציפינו למשהו מרגש. זו הייתה נקודה שאותה היינו צריכים לעבור בדרך לגלפגוס.
התכנון המעולה ומסלולי הטיולים העניקו לנו הכרות עם הבירה קיטו וסביבותיה. עיר תוססת, צבעונית שממוקמת בין הרי געש,
'סתם הרים' ועמקים יפהפיים. בקרנו בשווקים, נקודות תצפית וכפרים של שבטי אינדיאנים שהפכו כל רגע לחוויה של ממש.
התוודענו לפולקלור ומאכלים מדהימים במחירים מאוד סבירים ולנו בבתי מלון קטנים, משפחתיים, נעימים ובעיקר מסבירים פנים.
ההמלצה לשוט בין איי גלפגוס באנייה Legend  במקום ביאכטה קטנה הצדיקה עצמה. כשהים היה גלי הערכנו את הדברים כפליים.
הביקור באיי גלפגוס הוא חוויה מדהימה מסוג שאיש לא מעלה בדעתו עד שהוא מתנסה בה. זה משהו ייחודי !!!
כשהכל מסביב מתנהל ללא דופי אז המזכרת הופכת למשהו שמילים לא תוכלנה לתאר...
אנחנו קבוצה שמטיילת בעולם הרבה ובהחלט יודעים להעריך אנשי מקצוע מעולים.
אנשים שרוצים ומוכנים לעשות, לעזור ולהציע בלי גבולות.

My delay in writing is mainly because of the jetleg and the immediate return to work and catch up on pending matters before being able to sit back relax and enjoy the memories accumulated during these 2 wonderful weeks.

Let me first of all thank you for all you did to make the part of Equador be as beautiful and successful as it turned out to be. I know my friend and collegues can often be very impatient - an Israeli habit - and I hope you forgive them by now. They never mean to hurt others but it often looks as if they do...

We all had great time, loved what we saw and enjoyed your beautiful country much above our expectation. For some reason Equador is always only mentioned for the Galapagos and it is really a beautiful and interesting part but not all.

We know that we were lucky to have you 'behind the stage'. Without you and your professional handling of everything it would never be as great as it was. Thank you for all that you did.

I also would like to send u some updated Israeli music. Shall I mail it to your office or would it be better to send it to your private address (if so please send me your home address).

You can now rest assured that all five of us crazy American girls are back in the cold northeast daydreaming about our days in Ecuador. Thank you for putting together a wonderful trip for all of us and coordinating every little detail. My only regret was that we couldn't stay longer!

Thanks for include everything from wildlife viewing in the Galapagos Islands and trekking through the jungle to horseback riding on Cotopaxi and visits to towns and craft markets. My trip to Ecuador was an experience of a lifetime.

Nuestro viaje al Ecuador

Estimada Lorena,

Hace mas de una semana que volvimos del Ecuador y queria escribirle unas palabras para expresar nuestros pensamientos acerca de esta experiencia. Quisiera agradecerle para todo lo que usted ha hecho para nosotros. Nuestro viaje ha sido absolutamente increible e inolvidable. Desde nuestra llegada a Quito cuando Marcos vino el mismo buscarnos al aeropuerto, hasta el momento de la despedida (temporaneo, esperemos), todo fue arreglado de una manera profesional y con attencion a las detalles mas pequenas. Nuestros guias, especialmente Paul (desde Quito hasta Cuenca) y Ruly en la Islas Galapagos eran entre los mejores en nuestra experiencia. Me parece que estos dos hombres saben TODO: la historia politica y geologica, los nombres de las plantas, arboles, flores, animales del aire de la tierra y del oceano, la economia del pais, la distribucion de la gente, la comida y otros sujetos que hemos discutido y que olvido por el momento.

Los hoteles en Quito, Riobamba, y Cuenca eran exactamente lo que nos gustan a nosotros: ellos que son del pais y que tienen una atmosfera local y especial. Comimos mucho (y de vez en cuando, demasiado) y todo era bueno. Los restaurantes: La Ronda en Quito y tambien uno chiquito a unas cuadras del hotel donde tomamos et almuerzo, los dos con una cerveza grande para $3.70 (si, tres y setenta! increible!) la Hacienda entre Cotopaxi y Riobamba (no se como se llama), El Maiz en Cuenca, La Marquesa en Cotocachi y otros cuyos nombres me han escapado a mi mente debil.

Lorenzo y yo queremos asegurarles a usted y a Marcos que vamos a recomendar con entusiasmo su compania a todos que se interesan a un viaje al Ecuador. Otra vez, gracias Lorena y gracias Marcos.
